DHHC or Kamala’s home studio. All workshops are open to
levels from beginner to advanced.
Free
the Spine
This TriYoga Flows®
class emphasizes the spinal wavelike movements so unique to the method.
They increase flexibility, strength and energy in the spine as well
as shoulders, chest and abdomen. This program is truly a heart-opening
workshop!
Free
the Hips
Let this TriYoga Flows class help release tension that’s stored
in the hip area. We will focus on postures that work the waist to
the toes to create greater health and vitality in the pelvic region
hips, legs and feet. It feels great and it’s fun!
Free
the Posterior Thigh Muscles
While forward bends and many other back-of-the-leg stretches are the
main focus of this class, we understand that each body section is
part of the whole. In order to free these posterior thigh muscles,
some asanas that open the hips and quads are also included. The workshop
is sequenced to gently prepare the body for the more intense stretches,
later in the class.
Prana
Vidya (pranayama) and Meditation
Prana Vidya means control of the life force and begins with an awareness
of the breath, then control of the breath. The class will help to
develop greater health, mental clarity and inner peace with these
ancient yoga practices. The class includes breathing practices that
build the muscles of the abdomen and pelvis. The meditation techniques
will help you feel relaxed and quiet during and at the end of class.
We begin with a short TriYoga flow to prepare for the extended sitting
period, which will include many hip-opening poses, while we practice
the pranayamas. Some simple mudras will be included.
Mudra
and Meditation
Hand postures or mudras are said to direct the flow of energy in the
body to deepen the meditation practice; the use of mudras can also
encourage the student to sustain yoga postures again by focusing this
energy that is release from the muscles during the yoga pose or asana.
We will learn several beautiful hand mudras and link them to some
simple pranayama (breathing) exercises to take us into a quiet state
of relaxation or meditation. Mudras can make one feel very peaceful
and joyful. And they are fun!
Partner
Stretch
Bring a friend or come alone; there will be a partner for you at the
workshop, which begins with a gentle posture flow to warm up the body
and prepare it for prolonged stretching. This is a wonderful way to
relax and deepen into a stretch while a partner guides and supports
the sustained poses.
